The position is located at the Institute for Planetary Materials (IPM), Okayama University at Misasa, Japan. The IPM is a leading joint-use/research institute in the field of Earth and planetary materials science, with a diverse range of forefront experimental and analytical facilities and expertise.
Requirements:

2. Full Time Research Specialist for the Isotope Geochemistry Laboratory
The Princeton University Department of Geosciences seeks to hire a full time Research Specialist for the isotope geochemistry laboratory. Responsibilities include:

Maintaining lab operations on a daily, weekly and monthly basis;
• Monitoring and assessing consumables inventory and ordering supplies as needed;
• Sample processing and analysis;
• Assessing and maintaining equipment: performing minor maintenance on the mass
spectrometers and managing major maintenance activities with contracted
technicians;
• Training and supervising all lab users, including postdocs, visitors,
graduate students and undergraduates, with a particular focus on supporting and
assisting undergraduates with their research projects;
• Scheduling equipment time and maintaining the lab calendar; and
• Developing standard operating procedures for lab instrumentation; and

The Environmental Science Division (EVS) conducts basic and applied research and assessment that seek to understand how natural and human-managed environmental systems function and how system components respond to various perturbations. EVS studies the environmental effects of conventional and renewable energy development and use. We operate the Southern Great Plains Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) site for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science.
Position Requirements
A PhD in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering or a related field.
- Considerable knowledge of convective scale dynamics and microphysics.
- Considerable skills in working with scanning radar data. Preferably at C- and S-Band wavelengths.
- Considerable analytical abilities including working with large data sets (willingness to learn Python).
- Some knowledge of the workings of convective parameterizations in climate models.
- Some exposure to radiative transfer and radiometry.
- Good communication and collaborative skills.
- Experience with version control systems (git) and social coding (GitHub) is desirable.
- Some experience mapping problems to large computational frameworks is desirable (e.g. Python Multiprocessing or Jupyter clusters, Cassandra databases, etc.)
- A keenness to learn and a sense of excitement about meteorological and weather phenomena are essential.

5. Research Fellow - Climate Solutions
Previous Drawdown Fellows developed solution-specific models, technical reports, and policy memos projecting the financial and climate impacts of ‘state-of-the-shelf’ solutions deployed at scale over the next thirty years. Fellows in the 2016 Fellowship will build out the second phase of research, analysis, and modeling of Drawdown solutions. Fellows will evaluate and augment the initial research conducted by previous Drawdown Fellows, collect additional data as needed, revise and refine model methodology as needed, and integrate individual solution models.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree required, PhD or equivalent work
experience preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in sustainability, renewable energy, energy
efficiency, bio-sequestration, agriculture, international development, sharing
economy, or related field
• Experience in quantitative analysis, data modeling or econometrics required
• Strong research, analysis and writing skills. Demonstrated ability and
commitment to conduct research and produce scholarly work.
• Experience with preparing clear, compelling, and high-quality reports and
presentations
• Project management skills, capable of meeting deadlines.
• Interest in and ability to work remotely, yet in collaboration with a team of
researchers in different time zones. Comfort with teleconferencing
