1. Assistant or Associate Professor, Hydrology
The new School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) at the University of Michigan is seeking applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in the field of Hydrology. We are flexible with regard to areas of specialization, and seek the very best scholar with demonstrated excellence in research and teaching in any aspect of freshwater hydrology. However, examples of sub-disciplines that are of interest to the school include: ecohydrology, agrohydrolgy, hydroclimatology, hydrogeochemistry, and hydrogeology. Candidates from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Hydrology or a closely related field. Those at the assistant level must have a strong record of scholarly publication, evidence of teaching potential in a multidisciplinary setting, as well as activities demonstrating a potential for and/or trajectory towards national and international recognition. Those at the associate level are expected to have demonstrated teaching experience in a multidisciplinary setting, and a publication record and activities that reflect accomplishments as a nationally and internationally recognized scholar. Importantly, we are seeking candidates who have a demonstrated history of using their research to help solve real-world sustainability problems. Therefore, candidates should have some evidence of engaging stakeholders in their work, and evidence of collaboration across disciplinary boundaries to develop implementable solutions to sustainability challenges.

2. Assistant Professor - Atmospheric Chemistry

Locally, our Photochemical Assessment Monitoring (PAM) Site (http://pamsite.rutgers.edu/)supports continuous, real-time measurements of various physical and chemical properties of the lower boundary layer, including surface energy fluxes. Through the PAM Site, the department has a strong working relationship with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Air Quality, which controls over 100 air monitors at 33 different field sites throughout the state. The sediment transport research team at the University of Kentucky Civil Engineering Department announces the availability of fully-funded PhD assistantships and MS+PhD assistantships in the following research areas: hydrology and biogeochemistry; watershed sedimentation; and turbulence and sediment transport.
