The Applied Ocean Physics and Engineering Department is searching for a Research Associate to join the Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI) Coastal and Global Scale Nodes (CGSN) team. This is a full time, exempt position eligible for benefits.
JOB SUMMARY:
The CGSN Data QA/QC Lead is primarily responsible for assessing the quality of oceanographic data from OOI/CGSN moorings and vehicles, reporting any quality issues, and working to improve data quality through changes in instrumentation, infrastructure or processes. OOI is an NSF funded project with the purpose of providing infrastructure and instrumentation to measure physical, chemical and biological processes for the scientific community.

3.Tenure-Track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Climate Change
The Institute at Brown for Environment and Society (IBES) -- jointly with the Departments of Anthropology; Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences (DEEPS); Ecology and Evolutionary Biology; Epidemiology; and Sociology -- invites applications from rising leaders in the natural, socio-economic, public health, and environmental justice aspects of climate change.
This open rank search will seek to fill between 2 and 4 endowed university chairs with a tenure home in any of the participating departments. The endowed chairs are named faculty positions that include a small fund in perpetuity (in addition to start up funds) to assist chair holders in achieving their research and teaching goals. We are particularly interested in scholars who demonstrate research excellence, an interest in working to promote diversity and inclusion in environmental disciplines, and a dedication to teaching and research mentoring. The Department of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences at Rice University is inviting applications for the Wiess and the Pan Postdoctoral Research Fellowships.
